Mauritius Airport

Airports of Mauritius Co Ltd welcomes you to the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport

Some facts about the Airport Of Maauritius

Located in the southeast of the island, the facility, formerly known as Plaisance Airport, was initially built for military purposes during the Second World War by the British. Commercial activities started in 1946.

In order to accommodate constant civil traffic growth, a new terminal, not too far from the old building, was commissioned in 1987 under the name of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.

Airports of Mauritius Co Ltd (AML) was set up in 1999 and is presently modernising and developing the facility. AML, which employs 380 people, caters for some 2 million passengers, both in-coming and out-going per year.

The ground floor of the terminal is now reserved to arrivals while the first floor has been refurbished to accommodate departing passengers.
